8 Inches!!!

So far I have a paltry 8 inches done on the Gift Afghan. I do need to get moving. However, I put together a little incentive package for myself at knitpicks, including some gorgeous yarn for new mittens and a sweater for the Small Person. New mittens because her Christmas gift mittens were accidentally felted while building a family of snow men in the yard after the huge snow 2 weeks ago. Who knew Soy Wool Stripes felted so easily? The sweater would be a surprise for her birthday, if I can find enough time to stealth knit a sweater.

I will start neither project until I'm done with the Gift Afghan, though. I must be strong! (can't wait for the options in a 60" cable, though. I think it will really help with the growing weight of the G. A.)

The rain here has been endless. The river is flooded, our yard is a mess with mud, and my usually bone dry basement is damp in a couple of places. I'm so tired of all the muck!
